Weapons Handling & Stowage Equipment

Jered LLC has provided over 150 weapons handling and stowage systems for 11 navies on 13 different ship classes. These highly reliable and safe systems are used to handle and store various types of torpedoes and missiles used on board surface combatant vessels.

Jered’s modular design can be configured to operate in virtually any ship magazine for weapons stacks up to 3-high by 10-wide. The system can store a wide variety of weapons by using weapons inserts in the universal chock system. Protective plates are positioned between warheads to prevent sympathetic detonation. The fail-safe features of the system prevent unplanned movement of the weapon during handling.

The overhead crane incorporates telescoping stabilizing tubes that restrict any pendulation of the weapon during lifting and transit. In addition the overhead crane is completely operated by the use of compressed air, thereby eliminating any possibility of sparking as would be the case for electrically operated equipment.

The equipment is designed to withstand and remain operational during and after a shock event.
