PaR Marine Held Technology Showcase

 Attended by university leaders, federal and state lawmakers, local officials and industry partners. 

BRUNSWICK, GA, June 9th, 2016 – PaR Marine, a division of PaR Systems, Inc., headquartered in Brunswick hosted a Technology Showcase event attended by university leaders, federal and state lawmakers, local officials, and industry partners.  The event reflected on the rich legacy of supplying the US Navy with mission critical systems, but also showcased the exciting cutting edge research and development the company has driven in recent times that has led to tangible savings for the fleet. Along with many other exciting projects, the company has been developing and delivering the world’s most advanced aircraft elevator system for the nuclear-powered Carrier CVN 79 (USS John F Kennedy).

The event served to highlight the vital role that PaR Marine plays in supporting the nation’s defense and the active role it plays in helping to ensure that each defense budget dollar is used to its maximum effect.  Iain Attwater, Vice President Programs and Customer Services for PaR Marine said, “We are proud in being part of every surface combatant since World War Two but look to the future and the exciting opportunities that have been fostered from our technology enhancement initiatives”.  Following a technology briefing the attendees had the opportunity of hearing from Ken Hunnicutt, Vice President – Operations, of the innovative techniques employed that has turned complex designs on paper into manufactured products. Mr. Hunnicutt and Davey Sapp, Plant Operations Manager also conducted a guided tour, where the delegates saw first-hand some of the products in production.

Following the tour, G. P. “Bud” Peterson, Georgia Tech President said, “Georgia Tech is committed to advanced manufacturing, and it was nice to be able to see firsthand the operations of PaR Marine and their process to develop and manufacture advanced systems for marine applications.  I enjoyed joining the tour with lawmakers, local officials and corporate leaders, including PaR Marine President and Georgia Tech alumnus Daren Pietsch.”
Mel Baxter, Interim Director of the Brunswick-Glynn County Development Authority commented, “It was very evident that the level of technology and ingenuity on display is second to none in their industry.  The citizens of Brunswick and Glynn County are very blessed to have them as corporate partners and we are proud that their headquarters are here in the Brunswick-McBride Industrial Park.”
