Gantry Robots
PaR Systems XR® and MR®
style gantry robot systems are used in large work envelope environments
with significant system integration tasks. Examples of delivered
projects include systems for spent nuclear fuel handling, automated
calorimetry, special nuclear material storage and retrieval, deployment
of manipulator systems, deployment of process tools such as TRU Waste
Box opening saws and in-process handling of chemical munitions in
demilitarization processes. PaR Systems gantry robots are inherently
radiation resistant, are provided with explosion resistance and are
decontaminable.
XR® and MR® style gantry robots are operated with PaR Systems' CIMROC® Robot Controller. The CIMROC®
offers the well known Windows operating system and programmability
using CNC codes or within a development environment. We provide
integration of system components including end effector and end of mast
tool changing systems. End of mast systems are provided for barrel
handling, munitions handling, manipulator deployment and many other
high payload applications.
Deployment of large payloads is enabled by PaR Systems' patented
telescoping tube technology. Telescoping tube systems motion is based
on linear bearing technology. We have delivered hundreds of telescoping
tube systems that offer payload capability exceeding 6,000 pounds
(2,700 kg) and the rigidity to deliver a payload to very fine
positional tolerance. Many telescoping tube sets are provided with over
40 feet (over 12 meters) of vertical motion.
Integration Solutions
PaR Systems provides integrated automated and remotely operated systems. Since the early 1980s PaR Systems has integrated
computer based technology and robotics into its solutions. Integrated solutions include intelligent operator interfaces,
programmable and telerobotic motion control, automated tool changing, and integrated process and motion control for
applications ranging from material handling to deployment of welding and other adaptive processes.
PaR Systems Engineering and Quality Assurance work closely together to
provide customers with Safety Related solutions when Nuclear Regulatory
Commission licensing is required. Safety Related solutions require
commercial dedication of purchased components as well as the close
integration of other quality functions with design and procurement
activities. We perform and provide a certified seismic, radiation
resistance evaluation and other analytical functions critical to
providing a total systems solution.
Recent delivered integrated solutions include spent nuclear fuel
handling, plasma arc, waterjet size reduction systems, and buried TRU
waste box opening. In each case, PaR Systems provided the right
combination of automated and remotely operated features, with automated
end effector changing, computer based operations control and advanced
operator interfaces. For Spent Nuclear Fuel and other high level
handling, we provide varying degrees of remote maintainability as well
as deployment system retrievability. PaR Systems provides a number of
electrical distribution system options including its patented
"Serpentine" system that eliminates cable reels and tracks. PaR Systems
provides a range of hoisting solutions including single failure proof.
We also provide vision solutions including CCTV cameras integrated with
manipulator arms as well as deployment system mounted.
PaR Systems integrated solutions incorporate well known platforms including Microsoft® Windows and Intel hardware products.
Manipulators
PaR Systems' manipulator systems have served the nuclear industry hot
cell operators worldwide since the early 1960s. With several hundred
systems in the field, "It's a PaR" is generic terminology for a
remotely operated manipulator system. The PaR Systems M3000 and M6000
are simple rugged manipulator arms with payloads up to 400 pounds (181
kg.). Applications range from hot cell utility and process operation to
retrieval and waste packaging. Deployment is mainly by overhead
mounting or wall mounting of transporters. Other options are vehicle
and pedestal mounting.
There are two basic PaR Systems Manipulator systems, the M3000 and
M6000. The M3000 has a payload of up to 150 pounds and the M6000
payload is up to 400 pounds in any hand position. They are inherently
radiation resistant and can be washed down for decontamination. They
come with a simple gripper or a range of wrist mounted tooling
including torque and impact tools, hook hands, grinders, saws and other
devices. Control options include finger switches or joystick type
controls.
PaR Systems provides new and replacement M3000 and M6000 manipulator
systems as well as upgrades, modifications and repair services. The
M3000 and M6000 are maintained using simple toolbox tools. Most users
perform routine maintenance themselves.
Telerobotic Manipulators
PaR Systems' TR® product line inherits our 50 years
of experience in remote handling system design. PaR Systems provides
its manipulator solutions to users in the US, EC and Asia. The TR®
is deployed in nuclear, explosive and industrial environments. Our
engineering addresses every aspect of remote operation and maintenance
in each system design. We provide end effectors, end of arm tooling and
accessories for thousands of applications ranging from simple grippers
to impact and torque tools to intelligent end effectors for inspection
and measurement.
The TR®
Telerobotic Manipulator System provides operators with intuitive remote
control of motion and payload in hazardous environments. Advanced
controls and payload capability up to 400 pounds (181 kg), provide
adaptability to deploy processes ranging from traditional hot cell
remote handling to automated adaptive control welding of spent fuel
storage canisters. The TR® manipulator is inherently
radiation resistant and ready for explosive, corrosive, and other
difficult operational environments. The TR® is
deployable by overhead or wall mounted transporters with vertical
telescoping and fixed masts, cranes, pedestals or by vehicle. PaR
Systems offers a patented through wall docking station that enables
installation of TR® manipulators through existing Master Slave Manipulator ports without facility modification or additional shielding.
PaR Systems automates hazardous handling with its TR® telerobotic manipulator system. The TR®
provides programmability and repeatable operation. We also provide
application programming services or assist users in developing their
own applications.
The TR® is maintained with simple toolbox tools. Its
remote maintenance features and modularity allows users to perform all
routine maintenance and simplifies complex maintenance tasks.
