In 2012, acquires Marine Systems Technology and MST Engineering in the United Kingdom. MST is a leading expert in lightweight composites, fire protection and composite engineering, and designs and manufacturers marine doors, panels, hatches, scuttles, and other products. MST invented the patented composite technology COMFIRE®, which provides a major advance in passive fire protection at the highest level on military and commercial ships. MST was the first company to qualify a door to exacting US Navy fire boundary specifications.
PaR Marine Services opens another service office in San Diego, California in 2010, increasing support to naval clients.
In 2010, acquires Glynco Machine Company, Inc. who has a 30 year history in Brunswick, Georgia, strengthening client support and increasing machining and fabrication capabilities.
Also opens a second facility in Brunswick, Georgia in 2010, adding 70,000 square feet of capacity, allowing the company to continue to provide the best support of customers’ needs.
In 2009, Jered acquired Norfolk, Virginia-based company American Heavy Industries with offices in Norfolk and Conroe, Texas, increasing service and support for marine and offshore clients. The new entity is name PaR Marine Services, LLC.
Jered acquired the Unidynamics’ product line in 2006. This strategic acquisition added Helicopter Hangar Doors, Vertical Package Conveyors, Access Doors, Aviation Maintenance Cranes, Well Deck Cranes, and Launch Handling and Recovery Cranes, along with numerous other products. In 2005, PaR Systems, Inc. acquired Jered Industries, Inc., which became Jered LLC. Following the merge with PaR Systems, Jered greatly enhanced its ability to rapidly develop new designs to meet the latest industry requirements.
In 1997, Jered acquired New England Trawler Equipment Company (NETEC), a manufacturer of specialty marine deck machinery for over 75 years. Products include Towing Winches, Anchor Winches, Mooring Winches, Anchor Windlasses, Escort/Bow Winches, Capstans, Hawser Reels, and Oceanographic Winches.In 1992, Jered relocated its operations to Brunswick, Georgia, occupying an 185,000 sq. ft. facility on 110 acres of property. The larger manufacturing base enabled the company to expand the diversity of its product range.
Jered was acquired by Vickers PLC, a diverse engineering group, based in the United Kingdom. In 1997, Jered again became U.S. owned and designated a small business.
Jered is a major source of naval machinery products including deck cranes, weapons and cargo elevators, steering gear, anchor windlasses, deck edge aircraft elevators and special material handling systems. Jered’s Deck Edge Aircraft Elevator is the U.S. Navy standard.
Jered purchased marine equipment businesses from American Engineering Company (AEC) and C.H. Wheeler Company (CHWC). For over 80 years, AEC and CHWC designed and manufactured steering gear, deck cranes and deck machinery for the Navy. Jered became one of the leading designers and manufacturers of steering gear systems for the U.S. Navy.
Jered Industries started its walk in maritime construction in Detroit, Michigan as a general engineering design firm serving commercial and government markets. As the company grew, a major portion of the projects undertaken were in the marine field, particularly with the U.S. Navy.
