Position Description: Lead System Engineer (LSE)
Reports to: Director of Engineering
Summary:
This is primarily a design engineering team leadership position that is the technical focal point for the design, assembly, integration and installation of a new, specialized automation system. During project execution, this person will coordinate all the technical personnel utilized on the design of the completed automation system including mechanical, controls and software engineering. This person focuses on a particular group(s) or type(s) of robotic system(s) and as such will become one of PaR’s technical experts in the product category they are assigned to.
Each LSE usually has two areas of product, process or market focus so that they can become familiar with the technology and customer expectations of those markets. With this focus, the LSE and corresponding Program Manager will develop experience that can be leveraged to improve proposal accuracy and project execution on subsequent projects of the same type. The LSE’s primary involvement will be on more complex projects usually over $1M in value.
Primary responsibilities:
- Manager of a project engineering team on large projects with oversight of all technical aspects of a project’s execution.
- Act as the technical design leader for a particular category of robotic system(s) or processes (products).
- Work with the Program Manager, to execute projects and prepare the technical sections of proposals for the assigned type of product.
- Coordinate and direct the utilization of all engineering resources as it relates to the execution of the assigned projects.
- Forecast and manage costs on the design of the product and the execution of the project.
- Execute proactive R&D plans and budgets.
- Evaluate and implement continuous improvements on product/process designs.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Support proposal development and presentations as needed by the Program Manager.
- Assist the Program Manager with schedule management on complex projects or provide complete schedule management on small/simple projects.
- Applications engineering.
Specific Goals and Accountability:

- Product quality (as measured by specification obtainment and warranty costs).
- Meeting or exceeding cost targets.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors of Science in engineering.
- 5 years design experience for electro mechanical equipment.
- 3 years experience leading engineering teams executing projects.
- Working familiarity with Microsoft Project.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Bachelors of Science in mechanical engineering.
- 10 or more years design experience for electro mechanical equipment.
- 5 or more years experience leading engineering teams executing complex projects.
- Design experience in robotics or automation.
- Working familiarity with Microsoft Project.

Cost and Project Accountant
Responsible for project cost analysis and reconciliations to ensure reliability and accuracy of labor and material costs and budget data. Support month-end close procedures associated with project revenue and cost recognition: cost of sales, inventory accounts (WIP), revenue recognition, payroll, general ledger analysis and reconciliation. Provide timely and accurate reports as required to include: labor utilization analysis, metrics for project margins, proposal costs, and inventory. Support accounting team members with heavy volume and unusual transactions. Maintain the fixed asset register using Sage Software. Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance with 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment that uses an ERP reporting system, 3 of those years should be cost /project related. Requirements also include: good systems Report-Writer experience, experience with Crystal reports preferred, strong Excel proficiency, knowledge of purchasing, receiving, inventory flow and cost accounting principles, and ability to understand the project cost environment and the associated financial processes. Strong interpersonal skills and internal customer interaction required along with an ability to meet critical deadlines.
Electrical Engineer
Drive control and instrumentation solutions and designs on a project level. Identify fundamental issues and technically review and provide guidance for complex problems. System level design experience. Work with manufacturing personnel during construction and testing phases. Minimum: BS degree in Electrical Engineering, 3-5 years of work experience with control system design including integration and support. Five or more years of work experience with product development. Strong analytical skills in controls, systems and power distribution. Proficient in: AutoCAD, PLC and HMI programming software, Rockwell and Siemens preferred, application of variable speed drives, Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word/Excel/Outlook). Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills..
Project Manager
Oversee the execution of multiple projects. Coordinates the initial planning by the Engineering & Operations teams assuring schedules and budgets meet the business needs. Primary interface with the Program Manager assuring clear status of all projects is available for communication by the program manager with the customer. BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in related field required.
Manufacturing Engineer
Candidate will establish Jered Continuous Improvement Process (PCI based) and drive process improvement methodology, improve existing operations, incorporating new methods and processes, and investigate operational problems affecting production. Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Confers with planning and design staff engineering concerning product design and manufacturability to ensure efficient production methods. Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Applies statistical methods.
QA Manager
Efficiently plan, coordinate, and direct the quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards. Maintain ISO, military and other appropriate quality certifications. We are looking for the individual with a desire to approach the quality function in a new and innovative way. The candidate should be familiar with lean processes and demonstrated methods and techniques that have driven a quality program to excellence. The candidate should be well versed and able to communicate previous assessments and innovative approaches in an engineered to order environment.
Supplier Quality Engineer
Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of supplier quality standards for manufacturing processes, materials, and products. Develops and initiates supplier standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation relative to Jered's quality system. Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data. Assures that supplier products are effective and free from defects or operational problems or errors and meet applicable organizational and contractual requirements. Possesses creativity and understanding of the product and the goals of the company. Reviews technical publications, articles, and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in industry.
Spares Quality Engineer
Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of spares quality standards for manufacturing processes, materials, and products. Assures that spares products are effective and free from defects or operational problems or errors and meet applicable organizational and contractual requirements.

08-13FW Sr. Systems Engineer
This position is responsible for leading the engineering design activities concerned with LaserUT equipment; coordinating outsourcing activities with Program Management, Purchasing and suppliers; investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems with equipment; and reduces future operational/service difficulties.
Qualified applicants will have a BSEE w/ at least ten years of related technical experience. Specifically, the candidate shall have a minimum of six years experience related to the design, manufacture, test and maintenance of complex electronic systems, preferably in a manufacturing or test environment. At least 3 years in a Project Engineering role delivering large scale, complex systems. Robotics systems and laser experience a plus. International experience a plus. Must be fluent in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
