A revolver crane is a boom-equipped machine that can be mounted on a
raised gantry, on a barge or on a pedestal. Ederer has over 400
installations of our Washington
-brand revolver cranes (formerly Washington Iron Works) around the
world in service in shipyards, ports, marine construction, log handling
and other industries. Ederer has maintained and extended that
established expertise, supplying revolver cranes up to 550 tons
capacity, gantry-mounted shipyard cranes, and related equipment such as
stiffleg derricks, gin poles and other specialty rigging hardware.
Ederer regularly supplies parts, service and modernization for a large
number of Washington revolver cranes built in the 1940s that are still
in daily service. Recent major projects include motor control
replacement, diesel and torque converter retrofit, operator's cab
upgrades, and supply of pneumatic brake/clutch retrofit "kits".
