Radar Shielding

The primary purpose of radar shielding is to enable the exterior shape of a ship to meet Radar Cross Section Reduction (RCSR) requirements.

Jered's system has been included on U.S. and international navy ship classes.

The RCSR requirements drive the material selection, geometric design, and exterior shape of the closure and are applicable with the closures only in the fully closed position. The closure assembly is comprised of a drum assembly, closure screen, deflection roller assembly, tensioning beam assembly, guide track fabrications, electric drive system, electrical control panel, and set of interlock limit switches.

The RCSR closure can be designed to withstand shock, vibration, motion, wind, snow and ice loads while meeting RCSR requirements in the fully closed position.
