At PAR Systems, we design and build custom automation and manufacturing systems for some of the world’s most demanding industries. For us, engineering isn’t just a department- it’s at the center of everything we do.
With nearly 75% of our employees in technical roles, engineering shapes how we think, collaborate, and solve problems every day. Each year during Engineering Week, we take time to recognize the people behind our most complex challenges and innovative solutions- and to celebrate the curiosity, creativity, and teamwork that define our culture.
This year, teams across the company are diving into hands-on challenges and interactive activities that reflect how we work every day: experimenting, learning, competing, and building together.
From a space-based programming competition where teams write JavaScript code (with help from AI tools encouraged) to battle autonomous spacecraft head-to-head, to positioning objects with our very own MTR-HD assisted telemanipulator, to friendly rivalry during the Vikings vs. Packers Border Battle build-off where teams build stadiums out of building block kits, the week is designed to spark problem-solving, collaboration, and a little bragging rights.
The activities encourage cross-disciplinary thinking, highlight emerging technologies, and reinforce a culture that expects and celebrates innovation.
Engineering Week also underscores PAR Systems’ commitment to STEM education and the future workforce. Throughout the week, PAR Systems’ employees are helping build a full-sized FIRST Robotics field for local high school teams- using volunteer PTO to support STEM education and give students access to real-world tools and environments. It’s a hands-on way our engineers invest in the next generation of problem-solvers.
There will also be time to re-charge and connect with colleagues with the return of the Minneapolis Coffee Cart, or closing out the week with high-energy fun during the Ping Pong Tournament, where skill, strategy, and friendly competition take center stage.
Engineering Week is a celebration, but it comes from something deeper: our ongoing investment in people.
