Saint Paul/Minneapolis, MN – December 4, 2009 – PAR Systems, Inc. subsidiary Jered LLC completes the acquisition of Norfolk, Virginia-based company American Heavy Industries, Inc (AHI). The new entity will be named PaR Marine Services, LLC and will continue to service their existing customers along with Jered’s customers.
American Heavy Industries has built a loyal customer base over the past 40 years in the Norfolk area by providing custom-designed elevators as well as engineering, technical, and field service support for navy and commercial ships. Through their Houston, Texas operation, AHI has also expanded into the offshore oil rig engineering and support business. This business continues to be a platform for international expansion as their reputation for quality becomes increasingly known throughout the offshore industry.
With the acquisition of an existing service business that is adjacent to the largest naval base in the world, Jered will have more access and increased capacity to provide waterfront support for all product lines, including Jered, Unidynamics, NETEC, PAR Systems, and American Heavy Industries. “PAR Marine Services will build on this base to provide improved support to all of our naval customers in the greater Norfolk/Newport News area and to continue AHI’s support of elevators installed on offshore oil rigs from their office in Houston”, stated Jered President Ian Haley.
