PAR Systems Engages on Capitol Hill to Advance the Future of U.S. Nuclear Energy
Deploying Proven American Technology to Create High-Quality Jobs
PAR Systems recently joined more than 40 Westinghouse Electric Company supply chain partners in Washington, D.C., to meet with members of the U.S. Congress and advocate for the expansion of a U.S. fleet of AP1000® nuclear reactors.
As the only advanced, grid-scale reactor commercially available today, the AP1000 represents a critical opportunity to accelerate clean, reliable, and scalable energy production across the United States.
Supporting American Jobs and Manufacturing
During their meetings with Senator Tina Smith and Representative Angie Craig, Peter Donnelly, Vice President of Sales for Critical Handling Solutions and Jason Schultz, Director of Business Development for Critical Handling Solutions at PAR Systems highlighted the real economic impact of nuclear energy investment—particularly in Minnesota.
Through supplying cranes and refueling equipment for AP1000 projects, PAR Systems supports more than 250 high-quality jobs in the state. These are skilled manufacturing and engineering roles that contribute directly to America’s energy infrastructure and long-term competitiveness.
“PAR Systems, alongside Westinghouse, is on Capitol Hill supporting legislation that ensures continued access to clean, reliable, and affordable nuclear energy for Minnesota and the United States,”, said Jason Schultz.
The AP1000 reactor is fully licensed and ready for construction today, making it uniquely positioned to support the Administration’s goals of expanding gigawatt-scale nuclear capacity.
With two units already in commercial operation at Plant Vogtle—where they are setting new performance benchmarks—the AP1000 is the most proven advanced reactor design in the world.

Westinghouse and its established supply chain—including PAR Systems—are prepared to deploy this technology at scale, supporting tens of thousands of American jobs and contributing an estimated $92 billion to U.S. GDP.
Powering the Next Generation of Industry
A fleet of AP1000 reactors would do more than strengthen the energy grid—it would enable the future of American industry.
From artificial intelligence to advanced manufacturing, energy-intensive sectors depend on stable, high-capacity power. The AP1000 offers the fastest and most reliable path to meeting growing electricity demand while maintaining energy security and reducing emissions.
With a ready workforce, proven technology, and a strong domestic supply chain, the U.S. is well positioned to lead the next era of nuclear energy deployment.
