Rad Tolerant Handling Equipment

Radiation Hardened Manipulators

PAR Systems’ manipulator arms have withstood the test of time in harsh environments with many in operation for over 50 years.

PAR's design of the M3000 and M6000 arm, delivered to the fledgling nuclear industry in the 1960s, is similar to the production design used today. Currently, around the globe, these arms are the workhorses of hot cell and process canyon remote handling. While the components and production processes have evolved over the last 60 years, the rugged and thoughtful design has remained the same.

Our versatile manipulators help you do more.

Key features & benefits include:

  • End effectors and remotely operated tooling from parallel jaw hands to customized powered hand tools
  • Equipment operating schemes to meet your needs. Supporting remote operations using line of sight and manual joint control to video monitoring and full automation.
  • Multiple types of manipulator deployment (pedestal, wall-mounted, ceiling, telescoping mast and mobile base) with payload limits from 150 to 400 pounds
  • Bridge and gantry mounted manipulator systems can be deployed on trolley/mast combinations as well as main and auxiliary hoists
  • Video monitoring and lighting equipment incorporated into manipulator and other remotely operated systems
  • Wireless control as well as wireless CCTV systems
  • Design features that address hazardous environments and conditions including radiation, explosive atmosphere and seismic events

Our PAR radiation-hardened manipulators stand the test of time & work with a wide variety of tooling.

PAR can provide tools which utilize the remote tool power socket located on the wrist assembly. We have a wide variety of existing designs, such as nut drivers, reciprocating saws, nibblers or we can develop a custom design for your needs. Non-powered tools, such as the window wiper tool have been developed by PAR upon customer request. And the hook hands and grippers of our manipulators can match up with your own tooling.

Put cutting-edge technology to work for your operation.

Telerobotic Manipulators

Using modern control technology, PAR introduced the Telerobotic (TR) product line in the late 1980’s. TRs have the ability to program repetitive motions and manage kinematic control with position feedback—the standard with high-quality robotic systems. The TR retains the design and heritage of the M3000 and M6000 while providing modern robotic capabilities to hot cell and hazardous process operations.
