PAR Systems Celebrates Growth with Open House

July 1, 2013

Saint Paul/Minneapolis, Minnesota (June 21, 2013) – PAR Systems, Inc., a world leader in material handling, automation, and robotic solutions since 1961, held an open house to celebrate the addition of a new facility to the PAR Campus along County Road E in Shoreview, Minnesota. Among the distinguished guests to help PaR recognize their achievement were US Congresswoman Betty McCollum, MN Senator Bev Scalze, MN Representative Barb Yarusso, and Katherine Blauvelt, from the Office of Senator Al Franken, along with numerous customers, suppliers, and members of the community.

“We have grown our business even through the latest recession, and are now investing in this new manufacturing space to support current projects as well as enable further growth,” stated Brian Behm, President of PAR Robotics. “The critical schedule of our projects required quick coordination from all involved so we could begin moving in equipment by April 2013. This was after breaking ground at the end of September 2012 and building through a challenging winter environment”, continued Brian.

The new building is already active with current projects such as the remotely controlled crane system that will be used for nuclear fuel and debris recovery at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, a mill liner handler that will safely replace worn liners weighing up to 10,000 pounds at a copper mine near Santiago, Chile, the bridge drive assemblies that are part of the 300-foot Main Cranes System bridges for the Chernobyl project, and the plug welder that utilizes a pedestal robot to deploy a solid state welding system to replace key holes or repair defective weldments.

The 625 Building is the third building in the PAR Campus adding 46,800 square feet of manufacturing space to the existing 70,000 square feet at the 707 Building. The specialized building design – 24,000 square foot high bay area with a 65-foot ceiling height, 36-foot below grade pit, and two reinforced isolation pads – will accommodate the large specialty equipment that is required to support PaR Systems’ activities throughout the world.
